Samson And Delilah

Gifted with enormous strengths that also leave him vulnerable to the selfishness of others, Samson soon learns what kind of person Delilah truly is. Samson was a Judge, written of in the Book of Judges in the Old Testament. God was the King and Father of Israel, and in the years following their settlement in the promised land - the Israelites were given Judges - not to rule over them as kings, nor to judge legal matters as we so know them today.

The Israelites had their laws from God, and followed these laws in the most part, and resolution to trangressions were easily settled by tribal elders. Instead, these Judges called of by God would be warriors, soldiers, generals, peacekeepers, and would do almost anything necessary to protect and guide the people of Israel. Oftentimes God would endow these Judges with wisdom and other gifts, the special gift of Samson, given to him by God, was his spectacular strength... But something interesting to note in the Bible in regard to Samson, was that nowhere does it mention that Samson was in way a big muscular man, nor tall, nor is Samson in any other way shown to "look" as strong as he really is... hence why so many people would have marvelled at his strength.
